ac70  TorontoCanadaVery challenging to score a special replay on this one but nevertheless I do enjoy the longer target shots. The BG art work vacillates between very cool and a bit scary for me? Bought the machine with just under 100,000 plays and after a couple of thousand plays in a friends basement yet another Gottlieb battleship logs past 100000 plays. Since getting the game back from my friend I decided to freshen up the play field with touch ups and a clear coat. I also decided to installed some high power flipper coils which makes for better accuracy with the long target shots. Changed the pop bumpers over to red along with the upper rollover lane guides as I thought it suited the PF better than the original green. Also replaced the bulls eye target with a joker I had lying around and put in a colour changing LED for the wizard eyes that light up upon game end. The PF now looks very sharp now and plays a bit smoother and faster. A fun, challenging and great game to play. Oh yeah, I also decided to interphase an IBM computer to play music upon a couple of PF contact inputs. This has music cycle through a song list upon advancing to next level of bonus or advancing to next ball. It was a fun little project but not as great as it seems as turning the music up too loud detracts from game play and turning it down to a suitable level makes it like some back ground elevator music. Moreover, as opposed to just triggering 2 second sound bites playing entire songs never really works as PF triggers have the song change too frequently to the point of being annoying in my opinion. So, I have disabled the PF triggers and have the songs only change on ball advance and just have it play as quite back ground music when I feel like it.
adampinball  Las vegas, NVUSAVery good condition playfield, no cracked plastics, new drop targets, great backglass. plays like a champ.

atlanta_paul   Acworth, GAUSAJust finished restoring. Great game, tough to score big on, good rules. Playfield polished up great! Almost looks liquid. Very magical game...... Never say never, traded for a new CPR Fathom playfield, sad to see it go....
atpcfiaim   Tacoma, WAUSAI didn’t play this game before I bought it as it was broken down. That was a mistake. I won 13 games the first time I played it. Never became a more difficult game after I shopped it and used all the conservative settings.

cajunpinballer   Zachary, LAUSAJust picked up 2 weeks ago from vintage record store with a PacMan machine. It was originally on an Oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico so the story goes then ended up in a warehouse in New Orleans and was saved from Katrina being on high floors. Everything seems to work well, replaced a couple of bulbs that were out.Previous owner had refurbished some of the coils, switches and rubbers. Cabinet and backbox are worn, paint kinda rough in spots but backglass in really nice shape and playfield pretty decent. So far very happy.
campgames  Clifton, NJUSAI got a call from a collector here in NJ that I've known for many years about this Abra back in Dec 2015 but the deal fell through. His cousin wanted the game so I forgot about it. Then a couple of weeks ago in April of 2016 he called me back to see if I was still interested, well the rest is history. I went a grabbed the game the first chance I had at it. This machine had many problems at first glance and the playfield looked decent but I knew I would have to work my magic touch on it to get it to look great. The backglass had some flaking in the wizards cape but the rest of the backglass looked nice. I called Steve from Mayfair and bought a NOS backglass for him. The cabinet looked real nice but had a few scars and nicks that I knew I could touch up to perfection. Plastics by flippers were chipped. I am in the process of restoring the game at the present time but repaired all the electrical problems ahead of time so I can play a few games before the tear down and rebuild procedure. Added pictures today 6-18-16 and the cabinet looks great after a extensive cleaning and tiny bit of touch up with just the right matching colors making it hard to detect where I needed to work my artistic magic. I installed a NOS backglass from MAYFAIR AMUSEMENTS and it looks sensational!I still have a little fine tuning left on the restoration but I am coming to a close and the ABRA will be looking for a spot in the line up of the 42 machines. I might be forced to sell a game from my collection to fit this great player in the line up of wedgeheads. The problem is I am not sure there is anything I can sell from my present 41 game collection. For sure this game is a keeper and won't be going any where soon. Game play on this wide open playfield design is outstanding giving the player skill flipper shots on like no other wedgehead I have in my line up.(see IPDB for my rating)The artwork and colors on this dynamite player really stand out from other wedgeheads and is pleasing to the eye. So glad I have added this machine to my collection and just love playing it too! Finally got to the ball count unit which was mangled like a bear had its paws on it. The large spring had to be taken off and bent back to factory shape in a vise and with the help of two sets needle nose plyiers. I needed to clip a tiny portion of the metal spring off to get it to work to perfection, since the tiny section of the spring was weak from being mangled by the previous owner?. The switches were bent way out of proportion and was refusing to let the tooth gear rest at the stop position pin which is located on the reverse side of the tooth gear. After setting the switches up correctly and repairing the spring and re-adjusting, I got the gear to rest at zero position. This took some time, but the end result was rewarding and the game went into game over mode when the 5th ball landed in the out hole. I still need to take apart the shooter rod assembly and restore it to perfection with new springs and there are a few other fine tuning things I want to do to the game. At least now the game is playing 100% all the way through, including the match feature. I sold the game to a young guy from South Jersey who's favorite Gottlieb wedgehead is(you guessed it)Abra Ca Dabra. I know the game is good hands now and will get the extra love it deserves.

ckcsm  Lansdale, PAUSARemoved playfield and I'm in the process of cleaning up and spraying the playfield with automotive urethane clearcoat; order new plastics form Pinball Rescue and will go over and rebuild all playfield components when reassembled. Update: I shopped & installed the completed playfield; took it to the Allentown Pinfest (May 2018) for the freeplay area; plays really nice now. Added pictures of complete cabinet prep and repaint, also installed a new Webb backglass.

dallaspinball  Dallas, TXUSANice condition Abra-Ca-Dabra that had been in a home for nearly 25 years with minimal play. Playfield has some issues and backglass has some flaking on the robe. Picked up a reproduction playfield and backglass from Wade Krause that are awaiting installation. Usual three plastics are broke and I need to order ordering a repro set of plastics soon. Very fun game to play. Long term keeper in my collection... Should be restored and in the gameroom in a few months.
darrt268  Trivoli, ILUSAVery nice original condition game.
denisn72  East broughton stationCanadaManufactured in November 1975, this game is different from the others. The pop bumpers and the slingshots are reversed. The pops bumpers are located in the lower playfield and the slingshots are in the upper playfield. With its mysterious magic and sorcery theme, this machine is one of the most beloved games made by Gottlieb in the mid-'70s. I bought this one in June 2022. My 21st pinball. Total play meter: 90 000.

georgie   OttawaCanadaThe gameplay is fun and fast and the artwork is one of the best. I just purchased this all-original game. The backglass is perfect, with no peeling at all. The cabinet is in excellent original condition, with a few scuffs on the corners, etc. The playfield is also excellent, with only a couple of touch-ups to be done, but no rush. The plastics are a bit rough, so may get some repros. Mechanically solid and pristine. Easy to see why this is such a highly rated machine.

leckmeck  Afton, MNUSATraded for Drop-a-Card summer of 2013, sold to BintzKnocker November 2020. This project has survived water damage and a rodent infestation yet will still make a nice game. The only thing I did was recover the serial number (05753) which a crooked operator scrubbed from nearly everywhere.
leckmeck  Afton, MNUSANovember 2020: I found a nicer, low-miles Abra Ca Dabra that will displace my other project. Serial number 04372, 40k clicks on the meter. December 2023: another deep restoration completed. Playfield by Wade Krause, backglass by Ron Webb, plastics by Pinball Rescue, sweat by me. Combine ’em all, you get magic!

motoman   Riviera shores, FLUSAFound this one in nasty shape on someone's back porch. Termites, corrosion, rotten wood, a faded backglass, yellowed plastics, and a dirty playfield meant plenty of work had to be done to bring this one back to life. Undaunted, I took the challange: this game plays awesome and looks pretty darn good as well. Yeah it took a year or so but it was worth it.

wesailors4 Polk city, IAUSAGreat play field and cabinet is very good. Back glass has flaking but is sealed and repairable. On a side note, I have spoken with Ron Webb and he says he is going to print reproductions of the back glass before the end of the year if you would want a brand new one. That is what I am doing if I keep it. I am asking less to compensate for purchasing a back glass, if you should wish to. Plays well except gives an extra ball that drains at end of each game and scoring stepper unit could handle a cleaning. It plays fast and looks good. $1100 obo.
